Decorative Painting has greatly evolved from its beginnings.  Today this technique is applied to fabric, glass, and tin as well as, of course, wood.  There is no prerequisite in drawing or painting to qualify for this course.  The open workshops are designed for all levels from beginner, to intermediate and advanced.  Our professors are always up to date on the latest innovations in this discipline.  We have all the materiel and surfaces necessary to complete your projects.

Watercolor is a medium in which the paints are made of pigments suspended in a water soluble vehicle. The traditional and most common support for watercolor paintings is paper.  The beginners, under the guidance of the professor, learn how to mix color, the comprehension of paper and all the basic techniques in a predetermined order. Small exercises are practiced at the beginner level.  The intermediate student expands the basic techniques using fixed exercises as well as their own creations.  Water, rocks, trees, transparency and light are among the themes worked on in class.

Elise has been a member of the Canadian Watercolour Society since 1989.  She is a watercolour master of transparency and light.  She unlocks the fear of a beginner and her capacity to convey her knowledge makes this mediuim easy for all.  In her intermediate and advanced groups, she urges the students to explore new avenues.   Her infectious laughter generates a joyful environment in all her classes.
